Macarons at Bar Dolci

Bar Dolci's Macarons
Macarons are sweet meringue based confectionary made with egg whites, confectioner's sugar, granulated sugar, almond flour, powder or ground almond, and food coloring. the most common fillings are ganache, buttercream or jam, which are placed in between the two cookies.

What makes these macarons stand out and taste superbly delicious is the gelato filling. I particularly loved the salted caramel macaron. It is heaven in every bite. I also love the nutella hazelnut gelato/ Salted Caramel Macaron and Nutella Hazelnut Gelato ... just a perfect combination!

O'sonho, Eastwood Mall

I've had this craving for Portuguese egg tarts since my last trip in Hanoi.
My friend and roommate, the  thoughtful DA (Dear Attorney Susie)
bought me a couple of egg tarts from the mall.
I asked the Hubby if we can go to Macau. "Why?", he asked.
Hmmmm, I like to eat egg tarts...?
Custard tarts / Php 130
Columbia Coffee / Php 110
My coffee with lots of cream and 3 satchets of Splenda.
(Didn't have my usual beverage, a Coke Zero.)
Coffee Pods
Hubby would have gotten a Portuguese beer, but he's in Davao.
Son had Lengua / Php 290
Very tender, juicy, a bit spicy.
********
I only wanted to have a snack, egg tarts. Besides, it was only 5 o'clock.
O well, Son usually eats dinner before six.

Magnolia Ice Cream House

First thing I did was look for Black & White, Rainbow Parfait, Peach Melba & Banana Split.
These were my favorites back in the day.
But I ended up ordering these two,
.. and got sausages for starters.
Bbq Ribs with Rice, Corn & Fries

Ham & Egg Sandwich w/ Potato Wedges
Mushroom Burger Melt w/ Potato Wedges
Here is the rest of the menu.

Shall I go back? Sure! See you there.

Thai Bistro, Robinsons Magnolia

"Thai Food ... in perfection" , quoted from their flyers.
Decor on the wall. I love this!
Table Setting
Huge Birds of Paradise (artificial)
I thought the orchid was real ... NOT!
Nampla, Sugar, Chili Flakes & Vinegar
Mieng Kham Php 180
A piece of dried shrimp on a bed of nuts placed on a betel leaf, with a piece of chili (siling labuyo).
Son and Hubby were adventurous, but not me. I did not eat this.
The betel leaf is used by the old folks, which they chew with the betel nut,
with or without tobacco. Is known locally as "nganga".
Thai Milk Tea / Php110
The Son drank this entire Thai Milk Tea with Black Pearls (Sago) after eating the appetizer.
The siling labuyo was just too much for him.
Herbed Roti with Spicy Tomato Salsa / Php 190

Beef Panaeng Curry / Php 385
Beef Curry with Roasted Pumpkin & Peanuts
Pad Thai / Php 320
Rice Noodles, Pork, Shrimps, Egg, Peanuts & Bean Sprouts

Bistro Nest / Php 240
Crispy slivers of Taro & Sweet Potato with Coconut Ice Cream served with Coconut Jam/Syrup.
Tasted more like a coconut sorbet.
Plating of the dessert is beautiful, however, it is not functional.
You can't eat on that wooden dish.
********
Shall I go back to this bistro?  Maybe, but we won't order the Mieng Kham.

Robinsons Magnolia

\
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas.
This is Robinsons Magnolia's huge Christmas tree.
There are big golden jars filled with bright red poinsettia flowers in every corner.
You will see these hanging mannequins inside the department store.
The dummies' heads are covered with orange flowers and butterflies.
Very strange, quite odd, scary even.
Maybe these figures or statues were used for Halloween,
and not intended for Christmas.

Thirty one days to go before Christmas!
