Burrata ... you'll love it too!

I've said it before... Everything tastes so much better with cheese,
filled with cheese, topped with cheese, made of cheese,
and surrounded by cheese!   That's why I fell in love with
this cheese ball .... burrata, that's what it's called.

Burrata is fresh Italian cheese made of mozzarella and cream.
According to Wiki, the outer shell is solid mozzarella.
The  inside is mozzarella and cream,
which gives its pillowy soft texture.

Burrata is available at Gino's Brick Oven Pizza,
along Katipunan Ave., at the second floor
of Mercury Drug across Ateneo.

Zensho's Ala Carte Buffet, Tomas Morato, Quezon City

We're turning Japanese-ah,
I think, we're turning Japanese-ah,
I really think so .....

Sounds familiar?  with the headbanging choreography!!!
***
So, it's Japanese cuisine AGAIN!
It's Zensho ala Carte Buffet at Php 699 for lunch
on weekdays and Php 799 for dinner and weekends.
Zensho Authentic Japanese Teppanyaki Restaurant
and Sushi Bar is located along Tomas Morato, right beside
McDonald's and Lord Stow's.  This isn't our first time here.
In fact,  almost a dozen times... with the Son, or just the Hubby,
once with the bbff, beautiful best friend forever.
Have written about Zensho  in my previous blogs but
the blogs were all deleted. Ohemgee.... I  brought  some friends over
for lunch last week. Zensho has been an all-time delicious favorite.
***
Lunch with dear balikbayan friend from SFO, Dr. Agnes
and Madam Bubs at Zensho.  Son was our official photographer.
Thanks Son!
Kani Salad
You can get any kind of soup  you prefer.
***
... and unlimited Sashimi.
Agedashi Tofu
... and that's just for starters...
***
They have oysters which can be cooked any way you like
or served fresh on a bed of ice with vinegar-garlic-onion-chili
dipping sauce.  Ang dami! Sayang I don't eat oysters.
Shrimp Tempura
***
Cuttllefish Teppanyaki
***
U.S. Beef or Sirloin tips
***
My favorite .... Crispy Salmon Skin Temaki
***
Bottomless Gulaman or Iced Tea.
Sukiyaki Cut beef and some kind of Curry,
which Dr. Agnes got! She also got these two
barbecued / grilled gizards.
***
Got all of their desserts and had seconds too.
Aren't we happy ladies? Smile :)

Nothing to do ... so I baked a red & green velvet cake!

Red & Green Velvet Cake
served with Fruit Salad and Buko Pandan
***
There was one Saturday when I had nothing to do,
nowhere to go, no one at home (not even the angel),
no dvd's to watch, no unfinished paintings,
no books to read,  no errands, no texts, no calls.
Hmmmmm ...  so I baked a cake!
***
... after 55 minutes...
Happiness on a plate!
I gave this to the angel when she got home.
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!!!

Japanese Art on the walls.
***
If it isn't Chinese or Korean, it's Japanese cuisine
that's preferred by the Son ... and there must be ramen.
The Yakibuta ramen had huge pork spare ribs and lots of noodles.
It was just a teeny weeny bit spicy according to the Son.
The curry flavor made this ramen different from all the
other types of ramen.

The edamame was just perfect, nutty, salty and tasty.
I love edamame.  It was my sister, Dr. Maria, who
first introduced this appetizer.  She always has a bag
of frozen edamame in her freezer.  She just pops it
in the microwave and it's ready in no time. Yummy!

Son loves gyoza.  I don't like gyoza.  There's this particular taste
or some kind of herb in gyoza that I really really really (10 times pa
na really) don't like.  I think it's the Japanese garlic chives (nira)
in gyoza that gives this distinct taste that I really really really..... :(

I got the torikatsu curry.  I asked them to put the curry sauce on a
separate bowl. Just to be safe.   In case I don't like the sauce,
I can still eat the torikatsu with  soy sauce.
My interior designer friend once described the food on my plate
as boring and very dry.  hehehe

We shall be back.  Son loved their curry.

Ikkoryu Fukuoka Ramen, Power Plant Mall, Rockwell

Ikkoryu Fukuoka Ramen

Edamame / Php 80
Chasu Onigiri / Php 130
Aburi Chasu Don / Php 180
Spicy Tobanja Tonkotsu  / Php 380
heeheehee ... Cutie!!!
***
People have raved, blogged and praised this ramen place
for a long time. The restaurant's branch at Shang Mall was always full
and the ventilation wasn't very good which always discouraged me
from dining at this place.

Son and I were at the Power Plant Mall one Sunday,
where we had an early lunch. He had the ramen and
(I'm sure)  you know what I got. :)

There are restaurants that will make you want to come back.
If it were my Son's choice, we would come back here since
he really really liked their ramen.  But he doesn't get to decide
where to eat. Oh well .... maybe we should let the Hubby try
this place next time.
