Sandaime & Milk Cow, G/F Eastwood Mall, QC

Salmon Sashimi / Php 289
Edamame / Php 168
Sizzling Beef / Php 288
Tempura Zaru-Soba / Php 349
Sandaime Japanese Restaurant
G/F Eastwood Mall
***
There was something quite familiar with this place.
I just couldn't point it out until my Son
said, "Mom, this is Mr. Kurosawa."
Oh dear... Ok then, let's give it another try
but I'm not getting the Euro-Jap fusion dishes,
like the green fried chicken...
The server said that they made their dishes
more authentic. Is that so?
Oh well ... There weren't a lot of people
in the restaurant. In fact, we were the  only
customers at 7 o'clock.

It was a choice between CPK, Kettle and this place.
CPK was full. Kettle was a bit farther from my
real target, which was Milk Cow.
I wanted to eat the super creamy ice cream,
honeycomb and cotton candy.
Too bad they didn't have cotton candy.
That's Php 150 per cup.
Too pricey but worth every peso.
Yummy-ness!!!

Two reasons why my blood sugar soared to 375...

Kogi Bulgogi lunch with the travel buddies
for balikbayan, Dr. Aimee.
Kogi had a promo. Php 499 for all those
chicken wings.  What a deal!!!
***
Italianni's in Eastwood
2/F at the New Mall
They had promo packages too and we got
two of them.  Carbo loading time!!!
No wonder my blood sugar soared.
Php 1350 for all these Italian food.
Not bad. We took home the leftovers.

Korean or Italian?  Both!!!
I love Kogi.
I love Italianni's too.

This is a late post, about six months late.
Finally had time to write about this place.
Son and I really loved their food and the price
of their dishes were really quite affordable.
Fresh Lumpia
Chicharon Bulaklak
Sizzling Sisig
Adobong Kangkong
Crispy Catfish
Karekare and Steamed Rice
Fried Halohalo
***
Son and I have dined here several times since it
has a branch at SM Marikina, which is nearest
our home and very convenient to go to,
usually after we do our grocery shopping
or right after watching a movie.
Malinis and restawran na ito.
Masarap  ang pagkain at mura pa.

Rainy day comfort food from Karen's Kitchen

Tres Leches Cake / Php 90
Japanese Cheesecake / Php 84
Meatball Ribbon Soup / Php 175
US Angus Beef Sexy Heart Burger / Php 325
Baby Back Ribs / Php 395
***
Desserts were served first.
Syempre... I always eat cake before meals,
right after saying grace quietly in my head.
Rationale: You might get too full after a meal
and might not be able to eat cake anymore!!!

Their mini cakes were light and fluffy.
Son loved their Japanese cheesecake.
Another Syempre !!!
It's "Japanese"... as I have always written,
(I think my son has half Japanese-half Korean taste buds.)

The Tres Leches cake was a bit too sweet for me.
We weren't able to finish it, but it was good too.

It's been raining for the past days.

What could be better than having this
Meatball Ribbon tomato based soup at
Karen's Kitchen on a rainy and cool day?
 It's thick, meaty, filling,
 heavy, delicious and quite appetizing.
It's an entire meal.
I wish they'd put more bread or a chunky
baguette to go with the soup.
It would be a perfect pair.

The US Angus Beef Sexy Heart Burger
was beautifully plated.  The burger patties
were probably seasoned or flavored with onion,
(Sana wala na lang. Para pure beef ang taste.)
After eating the cakes and the hearty soup,
I couldn't finish the two mini burgers.
Had to have it wrapped for take out.

The Baby Back Ribs could have been plated
better.  The meat was quite tender and tasty.
However, the sauce was too thin, rather soupy.
The ribs could use a bit of grill marks or torched
before serving on a plate instead of a bowl,
with thickened sauce on the side, plus
a hefty serving of french fries.
You know me, the carbo loader!

Overall, our merienda cena at
 Karen's Kitchen was delightful!!!

Lovely interiors, too.
