The Davao Lechon was served with Patis or fish sauce, and not with liver sauce.
Very crispy, quite lean. and fresh, no 'piggy' aftertaste at all!
It tasted better than the Cebu lechon I ordered for Easter last year!
For our last night in Davao, Elena and Peter (Boyet's dealers in Davao),
invited us to their lovely mansion. They prepared a native feast for the seven of us.
We are honored and grateful to our hospitable, kind and gracious friends.
All I could bring them was a mini chocolate cake from Marco Polo
The lobby lounge didn't have bigger cakes or cheesecakes,
Just a simple token of our sincerest appreciation
and deepest gratitude for the warm welcome!

This was dinner!
Davao Lechon
Grilled Squid, the Hubby's favorite.
... and some kind of shellfish. It thought they were scallops
but NOT. Benetton uses the shells to make their buttons.
Inihaw na Panga ng Tuna, no fishy taste. Perfectly grilled, tender and delicious!
Beside it is the Lengua pastel, topped with mashed potato
and not the usual pie crust.
This too was superb. I loved it so much.
This is goat meat, only skin and lean meat, no innards.
Cooked and soaked in lots of kalamansi. A very refreshing appetizer
that could take the place of the tuna kinilaw!
Ox tail Kare kare. perfect! Just like how my mom used to cook Karekare.
Sugpo, giant shrimps or tiger prawns. I just ate one.
This has too much cholesterol. I have not digested the lobster tails for lunch yesterday!
Leche Flan, very creamy! They used goat's milk.
They also had mango cake.
Sayang I was too full, I didn't taste it. Maybe next time.
.. and the star of the dinner, the DURIAN,
Everyone ate durian , even Lance, the twelve year old nephew
of Dr. Margie. Son ate about three pieces
and this was his first time to taste this exotic fruit!

Just a few pictures of their lovely mansion.
Elena and Peter, you have a lovely home!
We shouldn't have booked rooms at the Marco Polo.
Your home is simply elegant.
May you have an abundance of blessings!!!
