A get together that's long overdue ...

A gathering of old friends we met at the Kingdom.

 It's been 30 years!  This get together is long overdue.

Hubby & I were newly grads, young, brave and daring.

 Worked as a dental assistant and dental technician.,

 so we could save money for our simple wedding.

 Working in Manila as a dental associate paid php400 a month.  

King Saud University paid us Php 10,000 to assist students and interns. 

 My ten and a half months in Riyadh became bearable 

because of my Ate Jo & Ate Alice. 

Went back to Manila to get married. ♥

Fresh Spring Rolls

Xiao Long Bao

I've had better or even the best Xiao Long Bao's at

Crystal Jade and Din Tai Fung.

PF Chang's Xiao Long Bao is probably the worst.

The dough/wrapper was quite thick and tough.

There wasn't much 'soup' inside it.

There was minimal filling too. 

One piece didn't even have anything inside it.

Extremely frustrating dish.

However... the following dish, which is my favorite

was delectable, delicious and mouthwatering.

The Reuben ... that's my favorite sandwich!

I just wish they would use sauerkraut & rye bread.

I like Kettle's Reuben better than the one I had

in Tagaytay a long time ago.

A classic Reuben Sandwich is made up of the following:

2 slices rye bread

2 teaspoons butter, at room temperature

2 tablespoons Russian Dressing / or aoili dressing

1/4 cup well-drained, fresh-style sauerkraut

2 ounces thinly sliced Gruyère or Switzerland Swiss cheese

1/4 pound thinly sliced corned beef

Zucchini, Red Velvet & Nutella Cakes

I've eaten half of the red velvet even

before taking a photo.  Sooooo yummy!

Since it was a Friday when we went to Shangrila,

we only ordered Salmon and those mini cakes.

Next time, I'll get the regular sized cakes. 

Spatzle pronounced as 'spetzla' as I heard it here.

Spatzle didnt have a lot of people waiting like it used to, 

which is perfect for quiet conversations with a good friend.

 And their mini cakes / (dessert sampler) were deliciously 

creamy cheezy & ♡♡♡ them soooo much!
