Breakfast at Antonio's, Tagaytay City

The huge Ferris Wheel (Sky Eye) at the Sky Ranch in Tagaytay.
***
Since I was up early on a Saturday and the Hubby didn't
have any meetings, conventions or seminars to attend,
we drove to Tagaytay's Breakfast at Antonio's.
***
Tomato Cream Soup / Php 150
Hubby loves soup, as if I have never mentioned this before.

Muesli / Php 310
Spanish Sardines with Two Eggs, Hash Brown and Bread
Php 305
Reuben Sandwich / Php 365
***
A classic Reuben Sandwich is made up of the following:
2 slices rye bread
2 teaspoons butter, at room temperature
2 tablespoons Russian Dressing / or aoili dressing
1/4 cup well-drained, fresh-style sauerkraut
2 ounces thinly sliced Gruyère or Switzerland Swiss cheese
1/4 pound thinly sliced corned beef
***
They didn't use rye bread, but wheat bread which was very tough!
They should have given us steak knives to make it easier
to cut the tough wheat bread.
There wasn't any cheese, not even cheddar.
The dressing was ordinary mayonnaise, they could have at least
used Thousand Island or placed wasabi in the mayo.
... and why were there fresh onions?  I hate FRESH onions on anything.
They could have at least given French Fries instead of  store
bought potato chips!!! Fail!!! Sayang...
I probably expected too much from Antonio.
Why not?

***
We arrived shortly after noon and waited to be seated.
While we were waiting, there was this young couple,
probably in their mid-twenties, stylish, attractive, sleek and chic,
who were also waiting for their table.  Hubby, who doesn't really
care about who's who or what people look like, whispered and told
me that the couple owned the silver Porsche that was parked beside
our white Mazda.  Hubby even said that the people at the
restaurant had "smooth skin", some were even foreigners.
***
We were seated by the window, with the view of the trees,
not the lake nor the volcano.  I had a little headache and didn't
really read through all their breakfast items.  I closed my eyes
and covered my ears.  I told the Hubby that the constant
pounding of the hammer was making my head throb.
The Hubby laughed.  He said there isn't a construction site nearby
and nobody was hammering nails.  The sound was coming from the
heels of the servers walking around.  The place had wooden floors and
very low ceiling.  There was also an elderly matron who was
talking very loudly and her gay son was also blabbering away.
So I got my spare ear plugs and had some peace & quiet.
Masaya pala kung medyo mahina ang pandinig.
Tahimik at calmado ang  paligid. :-)
