Desserts were served first.
Syempre... I always eat cake before meals,
right after saying grace quietly in my head.
Rationale: You might get too full after a meal
and might not be able to eat cake anymore!!!

Their mini cakes were light and fluffy.
Son loved their Japanese cheesecake.
Another Syempre !!!
It's "Japanese"... as I have always written,
(I think my son has half Japanese-half Korean taste buds.)

The Tres Leches cake was a bit too sweet for me.
We weren't able to finish it, but it was good too.

It's been raining for the past days.

What could be better than having this
Meatball Ribbon tomato based soup at
Karen's Kitchen on a rainy and cool day?
 It's thick, meaty, filling,
 heavy, delicious and quite appetizing.
It's an entire meal.
I wish they'd put more bread or a chunky
baguette to go with the soup.
It would be a perfect pair.

The US Angus Beef Sexy Heart Burger
was beautifully plated.  The burger patties
were probably seasoned or flavored with onion,
(Sana wala na lang. Para pure beef ang taste.)
After eating the cakes and the hearty soup,
I couldn't finish the two mini burgers.
Had to have it wrapped for take out.

The Baby Back Ribs could have been plated
better.  The meat was quite tender and tasty.
However, the sauce was too thin, rather soupy.
The ribs could use a bit of grill marks or torched
before serving on a plate instead of a bowl,
with thickened sauce on the side, plus
a hefty serving of french fries.
You know me, the carbo loader!

Overall, our merienda cena at
 Karen's Kitchen was delightful!!!

Lovely interiors, too.
