Don Day Fresh (Korean) Restaurant

Don Day Fresh Restaurant
***
***
Greens -- Iceberg Lettuce, Pechay or Filipino Bokchoy, Romaine Lettuce
& Perilla (commonly called sesame leaves but are not sesame)
Banchan are these small dishes of food or Korean appetizers.
***
Samgyeopsal are thick slices of pork meat, neither marinated
or seasoned, which are cooked on a grill on top of the diner's table.
Cooked and ready to be wrapped in those green leaves,
together with sauces, spices and kimchi.
***
Just some of our plates.
This is my plate.. very safe, no spicy appetizers, no leaves,
no kimchi, and no mussels!
Son's plate ... must have been extremely HOT.
Just look at the bright red color of those meat.
***
If you want a budget friendly Korean Restaurant, Don Day is
definitely the best place to dine.  For only Php 299, you get
to grill and eat unlimited amounts of pork, banchan, kimchi,
rice and even fresh fruits for dessert. It took me a long time
to post our Don Day experience. Been here several times with a
dental colleague, Son and Hubby.

Would come back or bring more friends here.  Just make sure to
inform them that the grill at Don Day isn't smokeless. There are
two dining areas, the air-conditioned  room and the other bigger room
with electric fans. If you are not too picky with the ambiance and
if you can tolerate a lot of 'smoke' from their tabletop grills,
then you'll have an enjoyable and satisfying Korean buffet '
meal here at Don Day Fresh Restaurant!

It's the Sister in Law's birthday on the 24th of June.
We usually do a potluck merienda cena at home but Ate Nene
wanted to celebrate her birthday at Dad's World Buffet.
It was also a late celebration of our SGV / CPA nephew,
Jake's  22nd birthday.
Thank you Jake for treating us all to this luxurious sumptuous
World Buffet at Dad's.

The last time we were at this buffet, was probably two years ago.
when a balikbayan relative was in town. It was still the old
Kamayan - Dad's - Saisaki Crossover Buffet.
Ate Nene was adamant, quite determined to have lunch
at this buffet.  Aside from adding other cuisines like Thai, Italian,
and Indonesian,  there were more food choices and
the waiters were constantly replenishing empty chafing dishes.
They have included drinks like shakes, iced tea and juices
to the buffet.  Definitely value for money.

Just some of our plates ...
Baked Oysters
Sushi
Sashimi
Tonkatsu
Filipino & Chinese dishes
More lechon, pritchon, grilled squid and karekare.
Sweet endings
Fresh Fruits
Creme Brulee & Buko Pandan
Ice Cream

Happy birthday Jake & Ate Nene!!!!

When Debra asked for suggestions on where to have dinner
at the Shangrila Mall, I could only think of Corazon.
Our balikbayan classmate would definitely appreciate
Filipino Hispanic cuisine.  I took the liberty of ordering the dishes
since the two ladies (Dr. Dags & Angela) were more interested in the
wine list.  It was almost 7 and I was hungry. hee hee hee
